Trip to Berlin
We’ve just returned from Berlin – it was only three days, but they were packed with unforgettable moments and experiences. Our adventure began with a visit to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the Christmas market surrounding it. In the evening, we admired the illuminated city while strolling through the atmospheric Nollendorf district. During the day, we visited the Brandenburg Gate several times, and one of the highlights of our trip was a visit to the Bundestag, where we also climbed the impressive dome above the plenary chamber.
One day, we walked from Alexanderplatz to the Brandenburg Gate. Along the way, we passed the Red Town Hall, the Marx and Engels monument, and the Museum Island with its breathtaking Berlin Cathedral. Our route also included the Neue Wache war memorial, and we finished the walk near the Polish Embassy.
We also visited places of historical significance, such as the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and the Topography of Terror Museum. We didn’t miss Checkpoint Charlie – the former border crossing between East and West Berlin – or the remaining sections of the Berlin Wall, which once divided the city. Before leaving, we had the chance to see Berlin’s street art adorning the remnants of the Wall, which was a perfect conclusion to our journey.
An unforgettable experience was the nighttime panorama of Berlin, which we admired from the TV Tower. We also embraced the Christmas spirit at the many festive markets scattered across the city.
It was a fantastic time – Berlin proved to be a vibrant city full of life, diversity, and history, with something to offer for everyone. We’ll definitely be back!
